LINGSHAN GRAND BUDDHA:  Silently towering at 88m above the ground, the Lingshan Grand Buddha is the true centerpiece of the Lingshan Scenic Area. The Buddha stands a full 42m (138ft) taller than the Statue of Liberty, situated alongside Taihu Lake in the city of Wuxi. Amidst a picturesque backdrop, the statue emulates the peaceful serenity of traditional Buddhist culture.

 

LINGSHAN BUDDHIST PALACE:  Situated along the eastern edge of Lingshan, the Lingshan Buddhist Palace stands as a magnificent spiritual sanctuary within the park. Incorporating impressive artistic, and spiritual concepts, the Buddhist Palace is a structure destined to behold great historical significance.

 

LINGSHAN VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT: Highlighting a fresh, flavorful variety of vegetarian cuisine, the Lingshan Vegetarian Restaurant located just east of King Asoka’s Pillar within Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Area boasts a diverse menu of traditional and exotic vegetarian dishes. The steamed buns and noodles are a regular favorite, while dishes like the Jinyumantang (carrot, potato, egg, and ginger), Jixiangsanbao (pumpkin, corn, and pine nut), and Tianxialiangcang (radish, carrot, celery, hericium, and tofu) add an exciting variety to the dining experience.

QINGMING BRIDGE CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL AREA: Crossing the canal in Wuxi’s Nanchang District, the Qingming Bridge is a single stone arch structure stretching 43.2 meters across the canal. At 5.5 meters in width, the bridge stands 8.5 meters high, with its arched opening at 13.1meters to allow traffic flow in the water below. The cultural area surrounding the bridge encompasses more than 900 meters of old stores, workshops, and traditional residences designed during the late Qing Dynasty. Because of its location along the Grand Canal, the area has historically been among Wuxi’s most prosperous districts during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

 

CLAY TEAPOT MAKING CLASS: Learning the fine art of crafting teapots in Wuxi is a unique experience that involves various techniques. This delicate set of handy craft skills has been handed down for over 600 years. Found only in China, Yangshan clay is used to create Wuxi’s beautiful teapots, making them a truly unique item. Masters happily share with visitors the traditional skills used to make the clay teapots and also will help you to create this special craft on your own.

Your comfort is our priority!
  4. Guide: an English-speaking guide and driver will be provided in each city, and will remain with you throughout your time there. A new guide and driver will meet you at each city on your tour, to provide you with the best local knowledge available.
  5. Hotels: fees are based on two people sharing one room with twin beds, with all of the tax and service charge included. All hotels as listed in the itinerary serve daily western and Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.
