  We will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Houhai, a famous hutong area within central Beijing. First, rickshaw drivers will show you around the hutongs (small alleyways around the traditional Beijing courtyard houses, remnants of the Old Beijing community) Next our guide will introduce you to Mr. Xin, who studied and worked at the China Fine Arts Academy as a student and associate professor, specializing in Chinese Calligraphy and Seal Engraving. We will visit his traditional hutong house and learn how to write Chinese Calligraphy with brushes. He will teach you to understand this form of art by writing pictographic Chinese, which was an early form of Chinese characters used over 3,500 years ago. You also will learn hold the brush properly and to write the characters by yourself.
