Three kingdom City

THREE KINGDOM CITY:  Built as a studio set by China Central Television Station (CCTV) in 1987, the Three Kingdom City has facilitated the taping of more than 20 television programs. Created for the 84-episode drama series, "Romance of Three Kingdoms," the set was established as one of the earliest television production bases in China. The set covers an area of 86 acres in Southwest Wuxi along the banks of Taihu Lake. Designed in the Han Dynasty style, the Tree Kingdom City represents the Wei, Shu, and Wu Kingdoms, all rivaling powers during the years 220-280.
The area known as the Taihu Lake Film and TV Studio Town is comprised of the Three Kingdoms City, the Tang Dynasty Village, a European village, and an Asian village. Originally built as a set for the series "Emperor Tang Ming Huang," the 32 acre Tang Dynasty Village was opened to visitors in 1991. The vast set includes a number of points of interest including Tang Dynasty style palaces and streets, the Sent-Sunk Pavilian, Lishan Mountain Attic, and Huaqing Hot Spring.
The European village is situated on the other side of Taihu Lake covering nearly the same area as the Tang Dynasty Village. Visitors can explore the scenic areas throughout the village including a replica of the French Arch de Triumph, British gardens, a Spanish bullfighting arena, a replica of Saint Mark"s Square, and a replica of Florence's Aristocratic Square, all providing an interesting juxtaposition to the eastern architectural styles relevant in the Tang Dynasty and Asian villages.
