Shanhai Expo Transportation
Exploring the World Expo and the city of Shanghai will be conveniently facilitated by the city's extensive and efficient public transportation system. Busses, ferries, and the metro all provide direct transportation to the expo site. Within the Expo site visitors will have free access to transportation throughout including busses, ferries, and the metro.
EXPO DIRECT SHUTTLE BUS
Ten of Shanghai's centrally located hotels have provided direct shuttle busses for visitors servicing transportation to the Expo site.
TAXI
Shanghai has reserved a 4,000-taxi fleet for this summer's World Expo. Taxis painted with the Expo's logo and mascot, Haibao will have access within the Expo site during restricted hours when standard taxis will be unable to operate within the grounds.
METRO
Five of Shanghai's eleven metro lines will provide direct transportation to the Expo site including lines 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9.
Metro line 13 will operate exclusively to service the Expo and is free of charge for visitors who present their Expo tickets when traveling. Line 13 will provide transportation across the Huangpu River for visitors between the Pudong and Puxi Expo zones with three stations conveniently located at Madang Road, Lupu Bridge, and the Expo station.
FERRY INSIDE EXPO SITE
Ferries within the expo site will operate free of charge, providing transportation for visitors between Expo zones in Pudong and Puxi. Ferries will dock at six piers throughout the site as well as two VIP docks, servicing five general shipping routes and one VIP route.
BUSES INSIDE EXPO SITE
The cross-river line will provide transportation free of charge for Expo visitors, with 130 passenger busses circulating between the Pudong and Puxi zones. An additional 100 sightseeing busses will also be operating throughout the Expo site. The busses will travel along an alternative route to accommodate for the expected large number of visitors and pedestrian traffic.
