Lijiang Climate & Best Time to Visit Lijiang

Located within a region of China with various landforms and high elevation, Lijiang experiences a multitude of climate changes. Subtropical temperatures converge in the southeast with warmer temperatures in the central areas and cooler climate in the northwest. Weather in the mountainous areas varies from warm to frigid alpine temperatures. 

The unique location of Lijiang also produces a distinct wet and dry season, in addition to an abundance of sunshine throughout the year. The rainy season typically occurs between May and October with November to April being predominantly dry. Regardless of the season, Lijiang still remains and favorable destination as the sunshine's and fresh air enhances the beautiful surrounding landscape and sceneries. 

Summer and autumn are typically the most favorable season to visit, as travelers experience less temperature changes from day to night. During the spring and winter, it is recommended that you bring warm clothing for the evening temperatures, even as the strong sunshine during the day may indicate otherwise.
