Huangshan Transportation
As one of China's most prevalent scenic attractions, Huangshan has become easily and conveniently accessible by air, train, bus, and even ship due to its location on the south bank of the Yangtze River.
Air: Huangshan Airport is located just 5k from the city center in west Tunxi District. Daily flights from China's major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Xian, Macau, and Guiin. A direct shuttle bus to the airport arrives and departs from Huangshan’s urban area for 5 Yuan. Tickets can be purchased on Huashan Road. You can also take a taxi to the airport for about 15 Yuan.
Railway: Rail is both an affordable and comfortable way to travel to Huangshan. Sleeper trains run directly from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Nanchang, Xiamen, and Fuzhou. The Wan-Gan Rail Line runs directly through the city and the main railway station is located in downtown Tunxi, in Qianyuan North Lu. During the daytime frequent busses leave from the train station and travel to the Mt. Huangshan Scenic Area.
Bus: Huangshan is conveniently connected by road to neighboring cities including Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, and Heife. The bus station is located in the city center, just 10 minutes from the railway station. The bus station can easily be reached by pedicab or taxi.
Local Bus: Once in Huangshan local busses provide convenient transportation to the region's notable scenic areas. The 64k journey takes about 1 hour and tickets cost 13 Yuan. Busses depart multiple times a day from the Huangshan City Bus Station downtown.
Taxi: Taxis are an easy and affordable option for getting around the city. Meters run at 5 Yuan for the first 3k, and 1.5 Yuan for each additional kilometer thereafter.
Pedicab: Pedicabs are common within the city and typically range in price from 2-5 Yuan per ride.
