Beijing Night Shows
Kungfu Show
Kung Fu, (also known as Wushu or martial arts) is one of the most well known examples of traditional Chinese culture and has a history of thousands years. It is probably one of the longest lasting traditional Chinese physical activities which utilize both brawn and brain. Bruce Lee, Jackie Chen and Jet Li are well-known Kung Fu actors, who play an important role in popularizing the traditional Chinese Kung Fu throughout the world. Today Kung Fu has become an international sport that people can learn and use to improve health, fitness, reaction time, balance, flexibility, coordination, power and speed and often as a means of self-defence.
The Kung Fu show is a unique spectacle and an entertaining demonstration of an ancient Chinese art. Entitled ‘The Legend of Kung Fu’ the performance follows the story of a young boy found wandering outside an ancient temple. Like every boy in China, he dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master, so the monks take him in and begin to train him. On the road to enlightenment the young monk encounters many difficulties and temptations. The show uses a fusion of Kung Fu, dance and acrobatics to tell the story, but English subtitles ensure the audience is able to follow. The best Kung Fu practitioners from all over China have been found for this production and it shows on the stage. Their average age is just 17 years old! Additionally the costumes, set design and special effects are created by some of the best stage directors and designers in China. Check the price here.

Peking Opera
Peking (Beijing) Opera is one of China’s most famous forms of ancient traditional theatre, developed in the 18th and 19th centuries. It combines elements of dance,
mime, acrobatics and music as well as vocal performance. The form was extremely popular in the Qing Dynasty court and has come to be regarded as one of the cultural treasures of China. Beijing opera features four main types of performers. Performing troupes often have several of each variety, as well as numerous secondary and tertiary performers. With their elaborate and colorful costumes, performers are the only focal points on Beijing opera's characteristically sparse stage. They utilize the skills of speech, song, dance, and combat in movements that are symbolic and suggestive, rather than realistic. Above all else, the skill of performers is evaluated according to the beauty of their movements. Performers also adhere to a variety of stylistic conventions that help audiences navigate the plot of the production. The layers of meaning within each movement must be expressed in time with music. Melodies include arias, fixed-tune melodies, and percussion patterns. The repertoire of Beijing opera includes over 1,400 works, which are based on Chinese history, folklore, and, increasingly, contemporary life. Check the Price Here.
