2010 Shanghai World Expo Site

2010 Shanghai World Expo Site:  The site of the 2010 expo extends along the east and west shores of the Huangpu river in both Pudong and Puxi, covering an area of 5.3sq km. the site is arranged into 5 zones; A, B, C, D, and E, with indoor and outdoor facilities dispersed throughout.

 

ZONES


Zone A:  Situated in Pudong, Zone A will house the China Pavilion as well as other national pavilions representing Asian countries.

Zone B:  Zone B is also located in Pudong just west of Zone A, containing the expo's theme pavilions, Expo Center, and Performance Center. Theme pavilions will include the Urban Being Pavilion, Urban Life Pavilion, Urban Planet Pavilion, and Urban Future Pavilion. Zone B will also house national pavilions from a number of Southeast Asian and Oceana countries.

Zone C:  The European, American, and African national pavilions will be situated in clusters within Zone C. This zone will also include a large public amusement park located at the entrance of the area.

Zone D:  Situated in Puxi, Zone D occupies the site of the Jiangnan Shipyard, one of China's modern industrial areas. a number of the zone's commercial pavilions are industrial buildings that have been converted for the expo. Outdoor public exhibitions and cultural exchanges will take place throughout the docklands and shipways of Jiangnan.

Zone E:  Also in Puxi, Zone E will host a number of corporate pavilions as well as the Urban Civilization Pavilion, Urban Exploration Pavilion, and Urban Best Practice Area.

 

Pavilion Groups


The exposition is composed of 12 different pavilion groups, with eight groups in Pudong, and the remaining four situated in Puxi.

 

Pavilion Clusters


  Each pavilion group is divided into a collection of pavilion clusters.  Altogether 26 pavilion clusters are situated throughout the expo's two sections, each containing 40-45 independent exhibitions. Within each cluster visitors can find small food service areas, shops, telephones, restrooms, and nursing facilities, ensuring convenience and accessibility regardless of where you are in the expo site.
